Exploring cool-roof and passive ventilation techniques to achieve thermal comfort

City Profile: Indore

Due to its location in Central India, Indore has moderate to extreme climate. The average annual maximum temperature of Indore is around 33° C. In winter especially during the months of December and January, the nighttime temperature drops to around 10° C while the daytime temperature is usually over 25° C. During summer especially during the months of April to June the Maximum temperatures can be over 40° C. Minimum and maximum temperature can go up to 30° C and 45° C respectively on an annual basis. Due to its location on the southern edge of the Malwa Plateau, in spite of experiencing hot temperatures during the day, the evenings and night are cool with the temperatures dropping to 25° C.
